We are very proud to release our new wp e – commerce theme “ShopMe”.
“ShopMe” is a theme designed and developed by us in collaboration with wpfeed.com. the theme is working with wp e-commerce newest version 3.8 which is now intended to work with the latest wordpress releases and use the custom post type features.
you can create your own store very easily now. the theme features a very fancy carousel, top products in homepage and sidebar widgets. you can control the main menu and some more options comes naturally with the theme.
Home
This is the homepage. you can see the welcome text, fancy carousel and six products you can promote to homepage very easily.
Products page / category page
the products page with ‘add to cart’ button already in it. and a list of all the products. you can see the sitewide widgets and shopping cart on the sidebar.
Product Page
the product page with all the detail and the main image. a click on the main image will open a lightbox effect.

Firstly, thanks for a beautiful template.
Your sample above has 3 top menu items, Product Page, Your Account and Checkout. I’ve been trying to set up 4 simple headings of my own: Home, Products, About Us and Checkout, and I’m using the Appearance>Menus option to do that. However, I can only see one menu item. Am I doing something wrong or is this a known problem?
you have to click on the plus sign and then create a menu, then choose your menu for the primary navigation.

option 1:
create a transparent logo, width: 233px, height:35px.
name it “logo.png” and upload it to “img” folder in your theme.
option 2:
create a transparent logo, any width (changing the height is not recommended).
go to style.css, look for:
#header h1 a {
and there change the width. don’t forget to update the logo in “img” folder.

Is there any way to have multiple images appear for the lightbox? I would like to have a basic thumbnail for the product, then after clicking on the image have the main image as well as some differen angle shots appear…

Yes, you have to add a link into the code so that each thing you want grouped has a name ex( normally is rel=”lightbox” change to rel=”lightbox[products]“

I started using it yesterday and while customizing it to meet my needs I noticed that the links on the fancy notification box are the same color as the background. A user won’t be able to see them. Not sure if its done on purpose or not, but wanted to let you know.

Hey all! I started using this theme the other day and I cannot seem to get the promo section working. Is there something I am missing? I put in the URL of the test image in the shopme2011 options but still nothing shows up. Is there another plugin that I should be using? Or is the picture that I am using in an incorrect format?

I read that as 2 different ways of specifying the path of the picture( local or on the web ) and we got to choose which way we wanted to reference the image. It wasn’t until I saw a working demo that I realized the promo took you to a new webpage and then it dawned on me how it was intended to work.

Anyway – I also have a very interesting problem, and I’m not sure if it has anything to do with the theme or not.
I originally created this site at a different location and then transferred it to it’s current location. I checked it’s compatibility with Firefox, Chrome and IE9, and all was honky-dory… until my client called me and asked why his site wasn’t working.
He said he was using IE8 and, apart from the “Visit the shop” link in the right column, not a single link on the page was working (including the menu items).
So I tested the site in IE8 and true’s nuts, it’s exactly as he said… in fact, you can’t even select the text or images – it’s as if there’s an invisible layer over the entire site! I’m pretty sure this is true for lower IE versions as well.
I’ve tried everything to fix it, including rebuilding the permalinks, but no joy.
This is obviously not a very happy situation, and I need help URGENTLY! Does anyone know how to fix this?

Phil, love your customization. 2 questions, as you have done some things that I would like to do. On the products page, how did you get category thumbs and links to show up? Also, how did you remove the animation from the product images. The animation doesnt work in ie8 or below. see here for example: http://qualityincontinencecare.com/shop/

Comments seem unavailable although I have them enabled on certain pages. When I change the theme, everything is fine and “Post comment” is there with the comment box. Switch back to the ShopMe them and the comments have disappeared again. Any ideas?

Have entered several sample products which appears fine everywhere except no images in home page featured products section (if I add Latest Products widget, the images appear there. I have noticed an error of “function.array-merge” Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Does anyone know how to get the products on the main page to show? There should be 6 products, I can set up the “products” page, yet I can’t get the 6 on the main page. It’s just a blank area.

I love the main functionality of this theme – but I’m having some real trouble getting the category and latest products to show. When I go into the widgets menu, it’s like they’re locked out – and I can’t add any more widgets (like a search box) or remove/edit the category/latest products link. This is sort of defeating the purpose…..I’m sure I’m missing something simple, but I’ve been through all of the settings a million times and haven’t been able to find what I’m obviously missing. Please help!

I love how this theme is working for me, but would like to have multiple product images displayed for each product. I have uploaded and added images in Products, but only one will show. What do I need to add to the code to display more than one photo per product?
Most of this theme has been great for me, although I have had a next to impossible time getting any support for any of the features. Is there a dedicated site for this theme, or someone who is actually in charge that may be able to answer some of the many questions? After updating to wordpress 3.3, I am now unable to include thumbnails to my products so that the image shows up on the main page under the new products. Also, is there anyway to rearrange the order of these products on the home page? Thank you, and if ANYONE has some answers I would greatly appreciate it.
This is my test site. I can’t get all the .jpg images to appear on the main menu page. The 1st 2 work and then the rest are blank. I do get the header. Anyone have the same issue?

My itchy hands went and updated WordPress to 3.3, and now I have the same missing product images on the main page.
I can now safely confirm that the ShopMe theme does not work correctly on WP 3.3.
For those who are interested, to make the missing image show on the main page:
In the table ‘wp_postmeta’ , add a new record with the meta_key values ‘_thumbnail_id’ for the affected product.
Now I’m contemplating switching to another theme for my live website. Itchy hands indeed.

Try settine a Featured Image (right column on the Edit Product page, under the Product Categories area) for each of your products.
I think something changed recently that makes this step necessary. Old products I’d added awhile back had pictures on the homepage but anything recent I’d added were just product titles. I don’t recall having to set a Featured Picture before, I could be wrong, but it works now.
